Back to School 2026: the CBF Network at the heart of Amazigh culture
It’s back-to-school time!
The Franco-Berber cultural network opens a new season under the sign of creation, transmission, language and sharing.
From books to visual arts, from language teaching to the activities of the cultural centres, this programme reflects a cultural momentum that keeps growing stronger and renewing itself.
Among the highlights of this new season is the Franco-Amazigh Book Fair, which will be held at the town hall of the 13th arrondissement of Paris. This event, devoted to books and literary creation, will be an opportunity to spotlight authors, publishers and works that help keep the Amazigh language and thought alive.
This new season will also be that of the Amazigh cultural centres, true spaces of closeness and transmission. The Lounès Matoub Cultural Centre, the Idir Cultural Centre and the Franco-Amazigh Cultural Space in the 13th arrondissement of Paris will continue their activities with a varied programme designed for all audiences. Talks, gatherings, workshops, language courses, artistic and cultural activities: so many initiatives that help make these places living spaces where Amazigh culture is passed on, shared and reinvented.
The transmission of the language naturally holds an essential place in this momentum. With European Amazigh Education, strengthening and developing language courses is a major focus of our work. Teaching the Amazigh languages means giving new generations the means to know, practise and pass on a language that carries a history, a memory and a culture. It also means placing this transmission firmly in the future and within the European space.
This new season will be marked by artistic creation with the exhibition “From Taourirt Moussa to Montmartre, the singular destiny of a Kabyle woman painter”. Through the journey of an artist and her work, this exhibition reminds us how individual paths can become bridges between territories, cultures and generations. From Kabylie to Paris, from Taourirt Moussa to Montmartre, art here tells a story of movement, creation and emancipation.
Memorial commemorations will take place this year in several French cities; they will recall just how deeply the Amazigh people are woven into the history of this country! Long invisible, the steles and plaques being unveiled will bring the Amazigh people back to life. It was about time !
This new season is therefore much more than a resumption of activities. It marks a new chapter in our commitment to the Amazigh language, to creation, to transmission and to the presence of Amazigh culture within the French and European cultural space.
