Kabyle: a living Amazigh language
Taqbaylit is one of the most widely spoken Amazigh languages in Algeria, mainly in the wilayas of Béjaïa, Tizi Ouzou and Bouira. It is also a language known and studied in North Africa and Europe. Although essentially of oral tradition, it has been written since the 20th century, mainly using the Latin alphabet.
Kabyle teaching (oral and written) is provided to children and adults at
European Amazigh Education.
It includes all the varieties (Bgayet, Tizi Ouzou, Bouira, Jijel, Sétif, Bordj Bou Arréridj, Algiers, Boumerdès…).
Learning Kabyle is much more than learning a language: it is also discovering its history, its culture, its origins, its customs, its traditions, Kabyle literature, phonetics…, and (re)discovering Taqbaylit as well (in the broad sense: a set of ethical and moral values).

Online courses all year round
How our online language courses work
Environment
Format: Live classes on Zoom, with a teacher.
Connection: Zoom link sent by email before each session.
Groups: Small groups (10 students maximum), everyone gets to speak.
Levels: Beginner, intermediate, advanced, after a placement test.
Pace: One session per week, 1 hour for children, 1.5 to 2 hours for adults.
Absence: Missed sessions can be made up.
Methodology
Typical session: Review, new concept, exercises, oral practice, summary.
Progression: Concepts introduced step by step and reused.
Between sessions: Short consolidation exercises.
Follow-up: Regular feedback from the teacher.
Materials: PDF sheets, slideshows, vocabulary lists, audio recordings.
