Tamazight: a living Amazigh language
Middle Atlas Tamazight is an Amazigh language spoken mainly in the mountainous regions of central and south-eastern Morocco. It belongs to the great family of Amazigh languages. Its main towns are Khenifra, Azrou, Beni Mellal, Midelt, Ifrane and Khemisset.
Tamazight has particular pronunciation and sounds that may be new to a French speaker. Its grammar, word formation and verb system also have features specific to the Amazigh languages.
But you do not need to be a linguist to begin: listening, practice and regularity are the first keys to learning.
As the lessons go by, you will learn to understand everyday expressions, build your first sentences and gradually communicate with your family and friends.
You will also discover the words, expressions and ways of speaking that give the language all its richness.
Whether you are a descendant of an Amazigh family, the spouse of an Amazigh, a member of a Berber-speaking family or simply curious, you have your place in this learning.
It is worth remembering that the term Tamazight also refers to the standardised, institutional form of the Amazigh languages.

Online courses all year round
How our online language courses work
Environment
Format: Live classes on Zoom, with a teacher.
Connection: Zoom link sent by email before each session.
Groups: Small groups (10 students maximum), everyone gets to speak.
Levels: Beginner, intermediate, advanced, after a placement test.
Pace: One session per week, 1 hour for children, 1.5 to 2 hours for adults.
Absence: Missed sessions can be made up.
Methodology
Typical session: Review, new concept, exercises, oral practice, summary.
Progression: Concepts introduced step by step and reused.
Between sessions: Short consolidation exercises.
Follow-up: Regular feedback from the teacher.
Materials: PDF sheets, slideshows, vocabulary lists, audio recordings.
